Cory McGee, from Stafford, Virginia, is a third-year voice performance major at Oberlin Conservatory studying under the tutelage of Salvatore Champagne. As a bass soloist, McGee has been featured in Joseph Haydn’s The Creation and W.A. Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with the Oberlin Mozart Players and Miami Music Festival’s 2016 Recital Series. He has performed operatic roles including Bartolo in W.A. Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Speaker in W.A. Mozart’s Magic Flute, Simone in Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Colline in Giacomo Puccini’s La boheme, and Reverend Hale in Robert Ward’s The Crucible, performing with Oberlin in Italy, Cleveland Opera Theater, and Miami Music Festival. Upcoming engagements include the title role in Gaetano Donizetti’s Viva la mamma! with Oberlin Opera Theater.
